Never understand why unrelated companies do this. I was looking on Indeed the other day and there was a Ukrainian logo plastered on the site. Like, I’m looking for jobs in Belgium, why do I need to be reminded of Ukraine?
They have it in animes now ffs. Some new anime everyone’s meming about and the main character has a blue and yellow hairpiece or something. Like fucking libs and their pandery bullshit. “Haha anime girl has Ukraine hairpiece how will Putin recover?”
Exactly my point, I say words in sentences the wrong way around all the time. People will get angry cus “muh grammar”. But the purpose of language is to communicate ideas, which i am doing just fine so i don’t care
edit:
to clarify there is a long history ever since the union happened of suppressing working class scots culture and language, when I was in school at a young age my natural way of speaking and writing was taught as ‘wrong’ and I would fail language assessments where I used my native tongue to communicate.
This is also policed in accents as well as writing; its most apparent in cities like Edinburgh where the local dialect is actually most alike upper class ‘posh’ statesmen english, as that was the hub in which the language suppression started and is most apparent there; it is less so the further away you get from Edinburgh (also why a common joke here is that Edinburgh is actually part of England…)
Just for some comparisons here is some samples of scots;
lol nah I can make out every single thing they’re saying but its also just due to it being my primary language. Scots has a wide range of dialects and if you lookup a word it can have like 5-6 different ways to say it/spell it due to regional differences
LanguageTool is better anyways, plus open source with extensive public documentation and you can run the serviceo n your own server if you want to. Good shit. I like it a lot cuz I screw up English all the time.
I’m guessing the majority of their audience don’t want to see that crap from their spell checker. I wonder what side Darigold takes on the Ethiopian affair. Strange how they haven’t announced it.
grammarly sucks anyways

If you don’t do the Ukraine flag thing you might lose 1% of sales and that’s unacceptable.
Gotta keep the narrative embedded in people’s heads. Gotta keep them distracted from material conditions
As someone whos had there language erased and taught as ‘wrong’ my entire life fuck grammar nazis, tools of fascists.
So long as I get what you’re trying to say who gives a shit, language is adaptive not static.

Didn’t expect to see the Scots language here.
Scotlands got a long communist and femminist history
Thank you
Is it offensive to say they sound like they’re mumbling?

LanguageTool is the best, down with Grammarly!
